Western
North Carolina is a mecca for retired people. The mild weather,
both summer and winter, has attracted people to these mountains
for millennia. The streams, waterfalls, plethora of woods
and forests make it the best of all worlds in all seasons.
Easily accessible by car or plane, you can get back to visit
the kids or have them come to you with a minimum of hassle.
Small towns, still intact from the forties and even before, dot
the landscape in Western North Carolina. Everywhere you turn are
inviting roads and views. Adult education classes, hiking
trails, great restaurants abound, and of course, world class golf
